Statistics: Russia’s inflation falls to 1.16% March 19–25
MOSCOW, Mar 30 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price inflation decelerated to 1.16% in the week from March 19 through March 25 from 1.93% in the previous week, and reached 8.91% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.
The sugar prices rose by 6.47%, prices for salt by 4.25%, for chocolate sweets by 3.51%, for rice by 3.43%, for tea by 3.42%, for buckwheat by 2.9%, for cookies by 2.8%, for margarine by 2.6%, for beef and sunflower oil by 2.2%, for flour by 2%, for vermicelli by 1.9%, for macarono goods by 1.7%, and for poultry by 1.6%.
The prices for fruit and vegetables grew by 2.7% on average, including the price for onions that rose by 18.28%. The prices for cabbage grew by 15.9%, for carrots by 11.5%, for beetroot by 9.5%, for apples by 3.7%, for potatoes by 3.1%, and for bananas by 3%. At the same time, the prices for cucumbers decreased by 7.22% and for tomatoes by 0.72%.
The prices for gasoline and diesel fuel decreased insignificantly.
